Why?

From optimising the conductor and its casing sizes, to increasing your operational windows and providing accurate centraliser requirements. Conductor analysis has a vital part to play in your jack-up drilled exploration/appraisal well drilling project, in ensuring optimal efficiencies through the lifetime of your drilling project. Common jack-up drilled exploration/appraisal well analysis includes, but are not limited to:

  • Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) assessment
  • Strength and Stability
  • Wave Fatigue Analysis

Aquaterra Energy’s riser analysis team have extensive experience in delivering jack-up drilled exploration/appraisal well riser and conductor analysis projects, working closely with our teams of design and project engineers to ensure their findings are not only used, but understood and implemented.

Assessing the Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) evaluates the likelihood of VIV lock-on and whether VIV suppression devices and/or whether a VIV fatigue assessment is required.

Measuring the strength and stability of conductors determines the acceptability of the conductor, connectors and surface equipment connections and flanges under prescribed storm conditions.

Undertaking wave induced fatigue analysis can provide an estimate of the conductor fatigue damage from repeated wave loading. The damage from wave induced fatigue is combined with damage from driving fatigue, to calculate the life time of the well.
