The oil and gas industry is the single biggest industrial contributor to the UK economy and secretary of state for energy and climate change, the Rt Hon Edward Davey MP, paid tribute to the industry in his speech to a London conference last week. Aquaterra Energy is proud to be at the centre of this dynamic, innovative industry, contributing vital fuel to the economy through investment in UK jobs and development of leading edge offshore technology from its bases in Aberdeen, Cambridge and Norwich. The secretary of state for energy also referenced the recently launched Industry Strategy, developed by the government in consultation with the new Oil and Gas Industry Council. Aquaterra Energy is also playing its part in this central process, with managing director, Patrick Phelan, representing the supply chain on the Council and in high level consultations with major oil and gas operators and the government. He said: “The oil and gas industry is vibrant and fast paced and it gives us great satisfaction to know that we are contributing in such a substantive way to the UK economy.”
