Aquaterra Energy presented on riser asset management at the recent IMechE Offshore Engineering 2015 conference. Dr Andrew Lennon of Aquaterra Energy presented the talk on the to a room full of delegates at the conference at Ardoe House Hotel outside Aberdeen.
The focus of the talk was on the development of the combined monitoring and integrity management system. Andrew gave insights into the development and testing of the system, including some problems encountered on the way, and gave an example of an offshore deployment of the system. The purpose of the system is to help clients manage risk and reduce cost through appropriate deployment of technology.
Stewart Maxwell, Technical Director of Aquaterra Energy added “with the recent contract awards to Aquaterra Energy, which will see the Riser Monitoring System (RMS) being fitted to two separate riser and conductor systems, it is clear that riser asset management is both an area of concern for the industry as a whole and the RMS is a product offering that is addressing these concerns”.
