QHSE Support Engineer

We are seeking an QHSE Support Engineer to join our team in 2019

QHSE SUPPORT ENGINEER

Salary £32 - 35 FTE depending on experience

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supporting the Head of QHSE & Business Improvement in the delivery of QHSE targets and KPI’s.
    • Responsible for the continued development / improvement of project related quality processes within the AE QMS.
    • Operate in support of the business from a customer perspective.
    • Support the development of audit & Improvement Programmes.
    • Produce and discharge Quality Inspection Test Plans for Projects (inc Bids).
    • Deliver QHSE support and advice to Projects (inc Bids).
    • Take part in Bid, Project & Design reviews.
    • Manages the application / use of non-conformance process to closure
    • Lead / support project improvement activity (i.e. Audit findings, QHSE related performance issues).
    • Report regularly on quality related project performance
    • Support the continued development and implementation of the Quality Management System.
    • Conduct inspections and liaising with suppliers.
    • Support the completion of internal & external Auditing program
    • Compilation of reports, inspection forms and release notes.
    • Technical duties as appropriate.
    • Any other duties within the scope of the post holder’s competency as agreed and on occasion 
    • Local & international travel to support the effective delivery of project scopes

 

OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Monitoring of project performance in respect of its ability to undertake regular performance reviews, achieve milestones, invoice appropriately and re-act accordingly to customer issues.
  • Work in a team with other disciplines to deliver projects.
  • Work with and inform the QA Supplier Engineer of any supplier issues.
  • Support the Company in the preparation of bids and quotations ensuring that QHSE aspects are addressed.
  • Any other duties within the scope of the post holder’s competency as agreed and on occasion
  • Create a relationship and liaise with the client’s QHSE representatives and third party suppliers as appropriate.
  • Assuring that all project documentation is controlled and authorised appropriately.
  • Produce, manage and report on QA activity schedules for projects.
  • On site QA activity if required.
  • Assist in Client visit/technical presentations as required.
  • Develop self and support the development of the QA function professionally

RESPONSIBILITIES (SPECIFIC TO OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY) 

  • To be conversant with and implement the Company’s Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
  • Assure that projects are undertaking, reviewing and approving H&S risk assessments.
  • Be active in the application and communication of all things associated with Health & Safety.
  • Assure that checks are carried out on equipment condition before use and that operators are fully conversant with it safe use.
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, near misses, and other safety concerns and pro-actively implementing corrective actions.
  • Complying with the AE QHSE policies.
  • Abide by all Statutory requirements including those related to Occupational Health & Safety.

GENERAL

  • Understand and comply with your responsibilities under the Company’s policies and procedures in place from time to time, including all those relating to Occupational Health and Safety and HR.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties as directed by your line manager or Director of the business
  • Unfettered right to work in the UK

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED NOT ESSENTIAL

  • Preferred HNC/HND/ Degree in Engineering
  • Level 3 OHS/Environmental Management Qualification
  • Recognised auditor qualification
  • Relevant industry qualification/internal certificate gained relating to the off shore environment

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 5 years project experience, including major Cap Ex projects, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience of successful client facing interactions.
  • Holding and leading meetings.

SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Good IT skills Including Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ‘turn agility’ and able to ‘learn on the fly’ and apply new technologies.
  • Reacts to project amendments and changes promptly and efficiently.
  • Good communicator with ability in ‘selling the vision’ capable in reading communication styles of other team members and 3rd parties coming from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources and operate with comfort at all levels of the business and with clients.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Can deal with ambiguity and conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
