Steven Parsonage, a top-class 18 year old sculler from Norwich Rowing Club sponsored by Aquaterra Energy, has been selected to race at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Hamburg this August.

Steven has been rowing since he was 12 years old.  He showed early signs of promise and, following some training, joined the local rowing club where he has been a member for the past five years.

Aquaterra Energy’s sponsorship has helped Steven take the opportunity to train in camps in Nantes, France, as well as providing him with the support he needed to compete in the Junior World Rowing Championships in Hamburg. Praising the support he has received from Aquaterra Energy, Steven said: “Without Aquaterra Energy I would not be able to seize all the opportunities around me – their sponsorship has been instrumental in providing me with the equipment and training I have needed to get me where I am today.”

Patrick Phelan, Managing Director of Aquaterra Energy, said: “It has been thrilling to see Steven succeed so far and develop his talents as a rower; his determination and sportsmanship knows no bounds and it is a delight to be able to sponsor such a talented young man from the Norwich area.

“All of us at Aquaterra Energy hope that Steven’s story will serve as an inspiration to young people everywhere, and our sponsorship activity is just one way in which our company looks to support young people in the region. We all wish him the best of luck for the future in both his rowing and his career as a young engineer.”
