Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk presented Aquaterra Energy with the Queens Award for International Trade 2009 at their brand new offices on Thursday 17th September.
Aquaterra Energy were announced as proud recipients of the prestigious Queens Award in April 2009. As part of the coveted award, it is the duty of the Lord Lieutenant of the county to formally present the crystal bowl and citation.
The Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, Richard Jewson J.P. arrived at Aquaterra’s offices in full ceremonial attire and was warmly welcomed by the Board of Directors. A tour of the offices was conducted, allowing all members of staff to personally meet with the Lord Lieutenant.
Prior to the official award ceremony, the Lord Lieutenant was invited to open Aquaterra’s newly completed offices, cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque.
The Lord Lieutenant announced the award, followed by Deputy Lord Lieutenant Barry Capon reading the citation. The crystal bowl was presented to Aquaterra’s chairman, Mark Boyd who commented: “This is a very proud moment for us all. This accolade is recognition to everyone for all the hard work and effort that has helped us to secure this prestigious award.”
HM Lord Lieutenant, Richard Jewson commented: “This thriving company has expanded rapidly with a focus on developing young talent. I have been tremendously impressed by the skills and enthusiasm shown by their highly qualified engineering staff in meeting the challenges presented by the oil and gas industry round the world. The achievements of Aquaterra Energy have helped put Norfolk at the forefront of oil and gas service industries."
