A rise in analysis for Aquaterra
Aquaterra are experiencing a record number of riser analysis enquiries this year. Since the formation of the Riser Analysis department in 2007, the team has grown from just one member to a five strong team. With increased skills and experience, their capacity for projects has dramatically grown.
So far this year the Riser Analysis department have enjoyed a flurry of projects, five times more than those completed in the first quarter of 2007.
Due to the teams varied backgrounds and skills, the department has been able to branch out in to other areas of interest. Significant research and development has been undertaken for Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) suppression, breaking wave analysis, soil modelling, passive heave compensation devices and the development of in-house IT systems.
Further to this the team has contributed to Aquaterra Energy’s engineering expertise in the field of platform design and analysis for its Seaswift structures, and project engineering for its centraliser product range.
Riser Analysis projects have been completed for a variety of locations and with the department and the company’s growth, these are becoming more widespread. The team have provided analysis for jack-up and semi-submersible rigs in the North Sea, the Irish Sea, West of Shetland, the Mediterranean, Vietnam and the West coast of Africa.
