Aquaterra receive Employer Champion Award
Aquaterra’s commitment to working with local schools and students has been recognised, receiving the Exchange Employer Champion Award for consistent support within Norfolk.
The Exchange – a Norwich-based organisation dedicated to building links between local schools and businesses recognised Aquaterra’s assistance in this area.
The award ceremony, held at The Forum in Norwich was attended by Aquaterra’s HR Manager Kathryn Griffiths, Graduate Project Engineer Glen Tennant and Director of the Asset Enhancement division Dave Rowson.
The award was presented by former Welsh international footballer and ex-Norwich City star Jeremy Goss and was received on Aquaterra’s behalf by Glen Tennant.
Aquaterra quickly recognised the lack of younger engineers and technicians in the offshore industry soon after the company was established in 2005. The company has since undertaken to develop and encourage young engineering talent through Summer Placement Schemes and taking part in the Engineering Education Scheme for the past three years.
The Scheme provides an insight into the industry for a group of keen students who are lead through an engineering project by two Graduate Engineers.
Aquaterra Energy has swiftly grown into an international company but is proud to maintain close links with the local area and the schools within it, helping to support future engineers.
