Aquaterra raise money for the RNLI
Aquaterra Energy hosted a private view at Mandell’s Gallery in Norwich to raise money for the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston and Wells-next-the-Sea RNLI lifeboat stations.
Aquaterra has sponsored Michael Sanders’ exhibition ‘From Cote d’Azur to Blakeney Point’ at the gallery on Elm Hill which runs from the 16th March – 10th April. The exhibition features paintings of the North Norfolk scenery, including Holkham Bay, Salthouse and the star of the show, Blakeney.
The Sheriff of Norwich, Tim O’Riordan and fellow guests admired the art on display at the private view on Thursday 25th March. Artist, Michael Sanders was also on hand to talk about his paintings and his love of North Norfolk that has inspired so many.
He generously donated a painting entitled ‘Marsh Heather, Morston’ to be raffled off, encouraging guests to give generously to raise money for the RNLI which solely relies on donations to fund its operations. An impressive total of £1075 was raised throughout the evening.
Aquaterra Energy’s Senior Service Technician, Des Mallion, who is a crew member of the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Lifeboat stated, “It is fundraising events like these that enable the RNLI to provide excellent training and equipment so we can stay safe while concentrating on saving others. The running of the RNLI lifeboat stations can only be achieved by generous donations and support of the public.”
Mark Boyd, Aquaterra Energy’s Chairman commented on the event, saying “Despite being an international enterprise, Aquaterra is keen to stay close to its roots by supporting locally. We are proud to be associated with this exhibition and thank everyone for making it such a successful evening, raising money for a very worthy cause.”
