Aquaterra 'do something funny for money'
Aquaterra Energy enjoyed a week of fundraising activities to raise money for Comic Relief.
Organised by the HR Manager Kathryn Griffiths and Accounts Manager Julie Playford, the fundraising activities were devised to engage the whole company and to have a lot of fun whilst raising money for Red Nose Day.
‘Swear boxes’ were placed in each room throughout Aquaterra’s two buildings, complete with a strict tariff for each swear word spoken out loud. This seemed to be a relatively straight-forward way of getting some members of staff to part with their money!
The ‘chocoholics’ amongst the team were enticed into taking part in a raffle with a delicious large Easter Egg as the prize. Competition was fierce for this prize with over £100 raised in ticket sales.
In a unique game of ‘Guess Who’ twelve brave souls kindly volunteered photographs of themselves during their formative years to be giggled at all in the name of charity. Some have just about forgiven colleagues who thought they were boys!
The grand finale of the week’s fundraising events was a fun-filled game of Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii. Staff came along to cheer and heckle the competitors, who showed a wide variety of skill levels from the total novice to expert. The winner was presented with a Karting trophy.
Aquaterra are pleased to announce that a total of nearly £300 was raised by staff. The company will match the amount raised, making a grand total of £600 to be donated to Comic Relief.
