Aquaterra receive IMechE accreditation
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is the fastest growing professional engineering institution in the UK and Aquaterra have been awarded IMechE accreditation for their Graduate Training Programme.
IMechE is an institution that helps support the world of engineering by sharing knowledge and publicising the achievements of its members and the industry. The Institution helps aspiring new engineers build their careers and become established.
This is a superb move for Aquaterra Energy who rapidly recognised the lack of younger engineers and technicians working within the offshore industry and the skills shortage that exists with it. Aquaterra wanted to develop and encourage young engineering talent through offering an undergraduate Summer Placement Scheme and a Graduate Training Programme. The IMechE Professional Development Scheme will allow those young engineers to train to become chartered during their time with Aquaterra.
Lara Mallet, IMechE Regional Manager for Eastern and East Midlands presented the certificate to Aquaterra’s graduates and mentors; senior engineers who are assisting them through their training and with their professional development.
At a time when finding an employer who places an emphasis on Continuing Professional Development is of increasing importance to graduates, achieving IMechE accreditation for our Scheme can only stand Aquaterra in good stead.
