Aquaterra's second Golf Invitational

Aquaterra Energy hosted their second Golf Invitational at Barnham Broom Hotel in Norwich on Friday 16th July.

Commencing the day with a bacon butty to boost energy levels, 46 golfers warmed up on Barnham Broom’s driving range before teeing off on the hotel’s 18 hole championship course, The Valley.

The Valley Course was designed by Frank Pennink, one of Europe's most prominent and respected golf course architects. The golfers of all abilities entertained the exciting challenges the course offered, such as the abundant water features which ensured a few balls were lost throughout the day!

Aquaterra staff, clients and suppliers were kept well hydrated and nourished by the refreshment buggy and after a day of exhilarating play the golfers enjoyed a well earned rest on the terrace, enjoying the last of the afternoon sunshine.

A three course meal was enjoyed in the evening followed by proud teams and individuals accepting their trophies. Terry Beavers from Perenco received the award for the 1st place individual. A charity auction then ensued to raise money for the Big C Norfolk & Waveney. A wide range of gadgets and sporting memorabilia were auctioned including a signed Manchester United football and a personalised picture of the 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie.

Nearly £3,500 was impressively raised for the Big C as generous bidders splashed the cash for a very worthwhile cause.

Gemma Fulcher, event organiser, commented: “Our Golf Invitational is a way to say a big thank you to our clients and suppliers for all their support. Thank you to everyone that came along and made it a great day. We look forward to seeing you all next year!”
